چکیده
In this study, the potential of a low-cost bio-adsorbent, taken directly from Date Palm Trunk Fibers (DPTF) agricultural wastes, for cadmium ions removal wastewaters is examined. The performances adsorbent are evaluated by building breakthrough curves at different bed heights and flow rates while keeping other parameters, such as initial feed concentration, pH, particle size, constant. results indicate that maximum adsorption capacity DTPF can be obtained Thomas model 51.5 mg/g with most extended mass transfer zone 83 min lowest rate 5 ml/min. saturation concentrations (NO) constant (kab) BDST (bed depth service time) 7022.16 mg/l 0.0536 l/mg.min, respectively. Using Yon-Nelsen Model, it found operating lower leads to larger value elapsed needed time reach 50% breakthrough. Wolborska indicates increases decreasing rate, achieve greater external kinetic coefficient (2.271/min) higher rate.

Modeling and Simulation for Dynamics of Packed Bed Adsorption
Understanding the dynamics of fixed-bed adsorption columns for modeling is a demanding task due to the strong nonlinearities in the equilibrium isotherms, interference effects of competition of solutes for adsorbent sites, mass transfer resistances between fluid phase and solid phase, and fluid-dynamic dispersion phenomena. The interplay of these effects produces steep concentration fronts, whi...
متن کاملSupported Photocatalyst for Removal of Emerging Contaminants from Wastewater in a Continuous Packed-Bed Photoreactor Configuration
Water pollution from emerging contaminants (ECs) or emerging pollutants is an important environmental problem. Heterogeneous photocatalytic treatment, as advanced oxidation treatment of wastewater effluents, has been proposed to solve this problem. In this paper, a heterogeneous photocatalytic process was studied for emergent contaminants removal using paracetamol as a model contaminant molecul...
متن کاملA Review on Packed Bed Removal of Organic Matter from Wastewater
Packed bed reactor finds wide application in wastewater treatments. Packed bed reactors can be employed for aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment of wastewater. They can also be used for physico-chemical treatments such as activated carbon adsorption of various pollutants from wastewater. Packed beds with up flow and down flow mechanisms are widely used for wastewater treatment. Use of flu...
متن کاملAmmonium removal from aqueous solution by ion-exchange using packed bed natural zeolite
Ammonium removal from aqueous solution by a natural ion-exchange resin was investigated by considering the factors affecting the ammonium-exchange capacity including the zeolites’ particle size, the loading flow rates and the impact of a number of regenerations upon the ion-exchange capacity. The resin column was exhausted by downflow at 10, 25, 50 and 75 bed volume (BV)/h, until effluent ammon...
